Kryptis is a private vault for photos, videos, and contacts on your iPhone. It encrypts the copies you save inside the app and puts access behind your vault passcode.

Create your passcode, then add photos, videos, or contacts to your vault. Use albums to organize your media.

You can unlock Kryptis and view saved photos, videos, and contacts offline. Burner Email, downloads, iCloud sync, and purchases need an internet connection.

Kryptis uses the available storage on your iPhone. You can check it in iPhone Settings → General → iPhone Storage.

Encryption turns readable information into scrambled data. The right key is needed to turn it back into a photo, video, contact, or other readable content.

Kryptis stores your files in an encrypted vault on your iPhone.

Permissions let you use specific features: Photos for importing or exporting media, Camera and Microphone for capture, Contacts for importing people, Local Network for Local Transfer, and notifications for supported alerts.

If you set up Recovery Keys and still have the correct words, use the recovery option on the lock screen to regain access and set a new passcode.

Your Recovery Keys are twelve words that let you reset a forgotten vault passcode. Save them in order somewhere you can access outside Kryptis.

Save your words when you create them. To replace them, open Settings → Recovery Keys and save the new set. Existing backups still use the words they were created with.

Open Settings → Passcode Settings and turn on Face ID Unlock. Allow access and complete the Face ID check to enable it.

Open Settings → Passcode Settings → Change Passcode and follow the steps. Existing backups still use the passcode they were created with.

Open Settings → Create Encrypted Backup and follow the steps. Save the finished file to iCloud Drive or a folder outside Kryptis.

Your backup includes the photos, videos, albums, encrypted contacts, and Saved Emails in your current vault.

Choose iCloud Drive, a computer, or a folder outside Kryptis. The Files button lets you pick a location.

Use the passcode that was used when that backup was created, even if you have since changed your vault passcode. After restoring, that backup passcode becomes the app’s passcode.

It adds a second lock using your Recovery Keys. Restoring that backup then requires both its passcode and its recovery words.

Open Settings → Restore Encrypted Backup, choose your file, and enter its backup passcode and Recovery Keys if requested. Restoring replaces the current vault with the backup.

Create an encrypted backup on your old iPhone. Save it somewhere your new iPhone can access, then install Kryptis and choose Restore Encrypted Backup.

Check the available space on your iPhone and at the save location. Make sure the backup file has finished downloading and use the passcode it was created with.

Before deleting Kryptis, save an encrypted backup to iCloud Drive or another folder outside Kryptis. After reinstalling, choose Restore Encrypted Backup to bring your vault back.

It keeps an encrypted backup of your vault’s supported data in iCloud Drive. It is a backup-and-restore feature, not live two-way merging between devices.

Open Settings → Automatic iCloud Sync. Set up Recovery Keys if requested, then confirm your vault passcode to authorize encrypted backups.

Open Settings → Automatic iCloud Sync to see the status and last successful sync. Keep Kryptis open while an upload finishes.

No. Each successful update replaces this device’s previous automatic backup. Different devices keep separate backups rather than merging them.

Use a manual encrypted backup to include Saved Emails. Automatic iCloud Sync backs up your media and contacts.

No. Turning off sync stops future updates but leaves the existing backup in iCloud. Erasing the local vault also does not erase that separate cloud copy.

Check the screen’s message, internet connection, iCloud sign-in, available storage, and Premium access. A passcode or Recovery Key change can also require you to authorize sync again.

Use the add-media control and choose the available import source, such as Photos or Files. Select the items and destination, then wait for the import to finish.

Importing keeps the originals in Apple Photos. To remove them after import, enable Auto-Delete Media After Import in Settings and confirm the iOS deletion prompt.

Apple Photos has its own Recently Deleted area, separate from Kryptis. Items normally stay there for up to 30 days unless permanently removed sooner.

Albums organize your media. Favorites is a smart collection of items you mark with the heart across your vault.

Yes. Deleting a custom album permanently deletes its contents and sub-albums. This does not send those contents to Recently Deleted.

Individually deleted media goes to Kryptis’s Recently Deleted area for a 30-day recovery period. Open the trash from Albums to see what is still available; restoring deleted items is a Premium feature.

Hide thumbnail replaces an item's preview while keeping the file in your vault. Open the item's More menu and choose Unhide thumbnail to show it again.

Open an item and tap More. Info opens its information screen; Rename and Notes take you straight to the matching field.

Use Set as album cover to choose that item as a cover, or Move to change its album. You can also change an album’s cover from Album Settings.

Open a photo or video, tap Share, and choose where to save or send it.

Captures are prepared inside Kryptis and imported into the vault. Wait for any processing or import to finish, then check the saved item in its album.

When enabled, Kryptis detects faces and applies blur to the captured image or recorded frames. You can choose the available blur coverage in the camera controls.

Face blur works with still photos and videos. Turn blur off to capture a Live Photo.

Live Photos, HDR, and other capture options depend on the device, selected camera, capture mode, and permissions. Some options cannot be combined.

Encrypted contacts are saved inside your Kryptis vault. Create a contact in the app or import one from Apple Contacts.

A copy keeps the original in Apple Contacts. Move saves the contact in Kryptis and removes the Apple original after you confirm.

iOS may have granted Kryptis access to only selected contacts. Use the available access controls or iPhone Settings to allow the contacts you want to import.

Open Recently Deleted in Contacts, select the contact, and tap Restore. Contacts stay there for 30 days. Restoring requires Premium.

Burner Email gives you temporary addresses for receiving messages. You can have up to five active addresses, and each lasts 24 hours.

The address stops receiving mail when it expires or is deleted. Save messages you want to keep in Saved Emails.

Open the message and choose Save to Kryptis. A saved copy appears in Saved Emails and is encrypted locally in the vault.

Remote images can contact the sender’s servers when loaded. Kryptis leaves them hidden until you choose to load them.

Check your connection, confirm the exact address, and make sure it has not expired. Refresh the inbox and allow time for the sending service to deliver the message.

The current Burner Email feature is for receiving messages. It is not a full send-and-reply email account.

Paste a photo or video link into Download from Link and start the download. Supported media is saved to your vault. Some sites and private links are not supported.

Closing the download screen can leave the transfer running. Reopen Download from Link or check the transfer status to see its progress.

Connect your iPhone and computer to the same trusted Wi-Fi network. Open Settings → Local Transfer, start a session, then enter the displayed address in the computer’s browser and provide the session code.

Check that both devices are on the same network, Local Network permission is allowed, and the displayed address and code are current. Guest Wi-Fi, VPNs, and firewalls can prevent devices from reaching each other.

It is a separate vault opened with its own passcode. It shows its own albums and items rather than the main vault’s contents.

It lets you create a separate self-destruct passcode. Entering that passcode at unlock triggers deletion of the local main and decoy vaults and their encryption keys.

Open Settings → Passcode Settings → Auto-Lock and choose how soon Kryptis locks after you leave the app.

When enabled, it lets Kryptis lock in response to placing the phone face down. It is a convenience for closing your vault quickly.

Intruder Alerts records failed unlock attempts and takes a photo when camera access is available. Tap an attempt to view the photo full screen.

Open Settings → App Icon and choose an icon for your Home Screen.

Open Kryptis Premium in Settings to see the available plans and included features.

Lifetime is a one-time purchase. It does not renew monthly or yearly.

Choose Restore Purchases in Settings. For App Store purchases, use the Apple Account you bought with. Web purchases can be restored on the same device.

Open Settings → Manage Subscription. Kryptis opens Apple's subscription controls for App Store purchases or the billing portal for web purchases.

Your vault stays in place when you cancel. Premium features remain available until your current access period ends.

Check your storage, permissions, and internet connection, then reopen the screen. If you still need help, use Contact Support in Settings.
