Decoy Vault: a second passcode opens a second vault

Set a second passcode and it opens a different vault, with its own albums and its own contents. Someone watching you unlock sees a real vault. It is just not the one that matters.

What it does

The Decoy Vault is a complete, separate vault opened by its own passcode from the same lock screen. It has its own albums, its own photos and its own settings. Nothing in it points at the main vault, and nothing in the main vault is visible from it.

When you use it

When someone asks you to open the app and you cannot refuse. A partner, a parent, a colleague, an official. You enter the decoy passcode, the vault opens, and it contains whatever you chose to put there.

How it fits with the rest

The Decoy Vault is one of three passcodes. The main passcode opens the real vault. The self-destruct passcode erases both. Intruder Alerts records anyone who tries a wrong code. Together they cover the case that a lock screen cannot: your phone, unlocked, in someone else's hand.

How the other apps compare

Frequently asked questions

Can someone tell there is a second vault?

The decoy opens like an ordinary unlock and shows its own albums. There is no list of vaults and no indicator that another exists.
