What it does
Kryptis has no account system. The vault is created on the phone, the key is derived on the phone, and every feature that needs the network, such as Burner Email or downloads, works without identifying you.
Why it matters
An account is a record. It links an email to a device, and often to the photos themselves. Several vault apps in the comparison require an email for cloud sync and list your identifiers or your photos as linked to you in their App Store privacy label. Kryptis cannot lose what it never collected.
What that means for recovery
With no account there is no password reset. Your recovery keys, twelve words shown at setup, are the only way to reset a forgotten passcode. Save them somewhere outside the app.
