What it does

Download from Link takes a URL to a public photo, video or stream, downloads the media and saves it into the vault, encrypted. The download can keep running if you close the screen; reopen Download from Link to see its progress.

What it supports

Public media. Private links, logged-in content and some sites are not supported. When a link cannot be downloaded, Kryptis says so rather than failing quietly.

Why it matters

Every other way of saving something from the web on an iPhone leaves a copy in Photos or Files first, where it syncs, backs up and shows in search. Downloading straight into the vault skips all of that. How to download videos from a link on iPhone privately.

How the other apps compare

Download from a link, from each developer’s own App Store listing.
