The direct answer
Shoot new medical photos with the Kryptis private camera so they never enter Photos, import the ones you already have, add notes, and delete the originals from Photos and Recently Deleted. Keep an encrypted backup in your own iCloud Drive so the records survive the phone.
This is not medical advice and Kryptis is not a health records system. It is a private place for the photos and files you would otherwise leave in the camera roll.
Where medical material leaks by default
- Progress photos of a condition in the camera roll, synced to iCloud Photos and shown in Recents, Memories and the widget.
- Test results and letters saved to Files, synced to iCloud Drive, indexed by Spotlight.
- Screenshots of a patient portal, in Photos.
- Anything on a shared device signed in to your Apple Account.
What to do now
- For new photos, use the private camera in Kryptis. The capture is encrypted into the vault and never touches Photos.
- Import existing photos, scans and screenshots into an album for the condition or the year.
- Add a note to each item with the date and what it is. Kryptis keeps the file date too.
- Delete the originals from Photos and Files, then empty Recently Deleted.
- Create an encrypted backup with the extra lock, and turn on Automatic iCloud Sync if you want it kept current.
Sharing with a doctor
Open the item, tap Share, and send it. That makes a copy outside the vault, in Messages or Mail, so send what is needed and nothing more.
What not to rely on
The Hidden album, which syncs and opens with the phone passcode. Locked notes, same. A folder in Files, which is not encrypted separately from the rest of the phone.
